WATCH: Fire breaks out along banks of Braamfontein Spruit in Bryanston
BRYANSTON – It is believed that emergency services are en-route.
A fire broke out along the Braamfontein Spruit in Bryanston at around lunchtime today, 22 August.
This according to Andre Snyman, a Bryanston resident and founder of eblockwatch, who said the fire started around 12pm. Snyman also sent a video of the fire, provided by the Devonshire Park Estate, which shows the massive flames.
He said it appeared that someone had set the bamboo reeds alight and he could see the flames that were two-storeys high from his house close by.
Ward 103 councillor, Vincent Earp is said to have spoken to emergency services and that they have been dispatched.
Johannesburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, Nana Radebe, confirmed a wild fire had broken out and the Rosebank Fire Station responded to the scene and the fire was under control.
