JRA Commits to fix all potholes

JOHANNESBURG – According to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), they will be committing to repair all the pothholes from the recent heavy downpours across Joburg.

According to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), they are committing to repair all the pothholes from the recent heavy downpours across Joburg.

JRA’s managing director, Goodwill Mbatha said they are aware of a substantial number of roads that have deteriorated to such an extent that reconstruction is necessary to hold the road.

Due to the heavy summer rainfalls, to effectively repair potholes the road surface has to be dry.

The process of road-surfacing drying approximately takes three days after the last downpour. The JRA will repair the potholes as soon as the road surface is dry.

Mbatha added that they will continue to monitor and make safe areas where there are potholes.

“The JRA endeavours to address roads-related maintenance issues as effectively as possible. The safety of road users is JRA’s priority.”

The road agency has apologised for the inconvenience.
