Veteran cop retires after 33 years in the service
SANDTON – A police officer at the Sandton Police Station has retired after 33 years of service.

A veteran police officer at the Sandton Police Station recently retired after 33 years of service.
According to Captain Granville Meyer, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station there was joy and sadness at the station as personnel said their goodbyes to veteran cop, Captain Fedile Kumalo on 31 January.
Meyer said Kumalo has retired from the police after a total of 33 years in the service. She started her career in the municipal police in 1985. “In 1994, after the municipal police were amalgamated into the South Africa Police, she started to work at SAPS Moroka as a sergeant.”
He said she worked at various police stations in Soweto and was transferred to Sandton police in 2004. She worked in the human resource department and was responsible for personnel management.
“Captain Kumalo could not hold back her excitement to celebrate her farewell with her colleagues.”
The station commander, Brigadier Egen Moodley thanked Kumalo for her hard work and dedication at Sandton police.
