Huge hailstorm and severe flooding hits areas of Joburg
JOBURG – A severe storm is expected to hit parts of Joburg until 9pm this evening.

An alert was issued out by Gauteng Weather on Twitter warning residents of road flooding that is hitting the N3 Southbound after Gillooly’s interchange this afternoon.
Gauteng Weather further tweeted that the hailstorm that had hit the area of the Gillooly’s interchange was also expected to hit parts of Joburg.
Rosebank is one of the area that has been struck by a thunderstorm.

According to Gauteng Weather, possible threats included hail, heavy rain, localised flooding and strong winds.
Areas that can be affected include Alexandra, Fourways, Joburg Central, areas along the N3, M1 and the R23 including all areas around Jukskei and Hennops. These are also areas that are prone to flooding, it was warned.
