#TopStory of the week: Experts from different retail companies came together to share their knowledge

SUNNINGHILL – Caxton Local Media shared their advertising tips at a retail seminar.


Experts from different companies joined together at the Heart of retail seminar to share their knowledge of retail.

The seminar was held at the Focus Rooms in Sunninghill, Sandton on 25 February. Different companies showcased their presentations.

The following companies presented well-structured presentations:

  • Flux Trends – The future of retail
  • Punkystarfish- Social Media 101
  • Caxton– Guide to advertising that was presented by Estelle von Berg, marketing manager and Eileen du Boisson from the Randburg Sun.
  • Zapper – Modernising payment methods
  • In2ADS- Showcase of offering
  • Xpotential- Interactive workshop

All of these companies had great prizes lined up for the day. Caxton Local Media had a prize up for grabs that have a value of R25 512. The prize was one half-page advert, including the design. The speakers for the day were Dion Chang, Trend expert and founder of Flux trends and Lizanne Vos, founder of Mustard Seed Marketing.

Landi van Deventer, regional marketing manager at Broll Property Group said,

“This morning it’s all about just embracing the love of marketing and our shopping centres. Today is about taking a step back and focus who is at the heart of all of our buildings. The heart of retail is about upskilling. Today is about showcasing ‘what is the bigger picture’, it’s to see what opportunities there are on the outside.”

Mokgadi Thobejane from Little Field Mouse Market said, “There are beautiful people and the atmosphere is full of vibes. There are a lot of young minds that are trying to get new knowledge. The talks that we were given were helpful and we can take it back to our business. It can help us to improve in all sectors of business.”
