Alert: Many parts of Joburg North affected by a ‘major’ power outage after Eskom power line trips
RANDBURG – City Power Joburg says their technicians are working on the power outages affecting many parts of Joburg North after an Eskom power line trips.
City Power Joburg has issued out an alert saying a high volume Eskom power line feeding their substations has tripped, causing widespread power outages in many parts of the Joburg North area, including parts of Midrand.
Some of the areas include:
- Strydom Park
- Bromhof
- Ferndale
- Kensington B
- Bryanston
- Bordeaux
- Beverley Gardens
- Windsor
- Cresta
- Linden
- Kelland
- Blairgowrie
- Randpark Ridge
- Malanshof
- Robindale
- Fontainebleau
- Noordwyk
City Power has apologised for the inconvenience and said, “Technicians are currently attending to the power outage.” They did not say what the cause of the power line trip was.

Earlier, Eskom implemented Stage 4 load-shedding from 9am until 11pm.
