May 22: Second Annual Women in Engineering Convention Catch-Up
This conference aims to serve as a platform to ensure that women in the engineering field are at the forefront of engineering innovation, sustainable engineering and also dominate and thrive in a male populated work environment.
The annual engineering conference attracts over 250 women. The convention is to ensure adequate time is spent collaborating during workshops, panel discussions and open forum discussions to discuss paramount issues which hinder women empowerment in the engineering field, and finding concrete solutions to retain and attract more women into the engineering sector.

May 24: Design Joburg Featuring Rooms on View 2019
With Africa’s rich combination of tradition and modernity continuing to enrich global culture, Media 10 is delighted to announce the third edition of Design Joburg Featuring Rooms on View. Gauteng’s premier, contemporary and decorative design show has quickly established itself as the continent’s leading annual décor and design event, taking place from 24 to 26 May at Sandton Convention Centre. Media 10 will bring a stellar number of the best design brands under one roof, combining the local and global pioneers and trailblazers of the design world. The show will be tailored under the curative eye of one of the continent’s most iconic design duo’s Philippe van der Merwe and Greg Gamble from retail atelier and design studio Tonic Design. May 25: Mother’s Day bootcamp
Come join the health and fitness event at Knockout Legends. There will be a boxing and fitness session with the trainers from Knockout Legends and it will end with a dance session with Takkies and Mpumi. Tickets available at Quicket at R180.

May 25: SA Weddings Bride of the Year 2018 at the Maslow Hotel
The Maslow Hotel is excited to bring you the 18th annual SA Weddings Bride of the Year Event, an annual event that sees thousands of brides entering from all over South Africa. Over the year, a monthly finalist is crowned in the form of a Mrs January through to Mrs December, which is determined based on public votes. The Top 12 finalists will then compete for the title of Bride of the Year at a stunning gala event, judged by a panel of amazing celebrity judges. A portion from the ticket sales will be donated to Project Flamingo, a charity dedicated to alleviating the suffering in women with breast cancer.

May 30: Lsas Sessions presents Kabomo at Hard Rock Café Johannesburg
Sama award-winning and multi-talented artist Kabomo is set to perform at Hard Rock Cafés LASA Sessions on Thursday, 30 May.
Recently nominated for a SAMA for his latest album All Things Red, Kabomo is a reminder of how much a force he is. Consistent, talented and true to himself with five albums to his name. All Things Red, a 12 track neo-soul album which he deems his best work to date, sees him make his return as the ‘King of Soul”. The album features some of the best artists in South Africa, the likes of Siphokazi, Khuli Chana, Mpumi, Nothende and new sensational talent Mapula Mahlo. Kabomo is known for songs such as Uzobuya, Busisiwe and Colour of You featuring the talented vocalist Nothende.
Lasa Sessions (Love All Serve All) is a weekly musical experience at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton – a true celebration of African music. The shows have had a wide array of musicians, the likes of Nduduzo Makhathini, Brenda Mtambo, Msaki, Buhlebendalo, Berita, Zoe Modiga and MXO among others.
