JMPD has launched new hotline numbers

JOBURG – Have these numbers in hand for traffic-related matters and illegal dumping.


Metro police recently launched new hotline numbers that will assist with traffic-related offences and illegal dumping. 

Spokesperson of the Metro police, Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the recently launched number, 080 872 3342 is for traffic infringements, reporting faulty traffic lights, traffic congestion and any other traffic-related matters.

Law enforcement agencies and the City of Johannesburg is clamping down on illegal dumping, new fines have been approved by the City. A designated hotline 0800 120 555 has been launched so people can report illegal dumping. Minnaar said people caught illegally dumping will be fined. “First-time offenders will be fined R10 000 and their vehicle impounded, second offence R15 000, the third offence R20 000.”

Failure to pay the fines will lead to a warrant of arrest.

The hotlines are available 24 hours and seven days a week.
