Bryanston High School stood up for women in the rain this morning 7 September to show their disdain against gender-based violence that has gripped the country.
Holding banners and posters such as #EnoughIsEnough, many learners stood on the Willam Nicol Drive making their voices heard after the country. Voices that express the anger and sadness surrounding the shocking cases of femicide, murder against women and girls.

President Cyril Ramaphosa finally addressed the nation yesterday, 5 September saying violence against women is a crime against humanity.
There have been many stories told this week, such the rape and murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana, the kidnapping of Amy’Leigh de Jager in Vanderjilpark and the hanging of four siblings by their father in Durban has put a stark reminder that South Africa has a crisis in dealing with violence against women.
