St David’s U15 team emerge victorious in St David’s Challenge Cup

SANDTON – The 17th annual St David's Challenge Cup saw 16 teams compete in the U15 and U19 divisions.


The St David’s Marist Inanda U15 soccer team celebrate victory at the 17th annual St David’s Challenge Cup.

This year the tournament included 16 schools and over 600 players and showcased impressive football from both U15 and U19 players.

The Jeppe High School team emerged victorious in the U19 division. In the final match, Jeppe competed against Norkem Park High School. Linda Ndlovu was named the best attacker in the final match while his teammate Matthew Goatcher received the award for the best defender.

The St David’s team won again King Edward VII School, making it a first-time victory for the U15 team during the tournament. St David’s beat King Edward during a penalty shoot-out after they were locked at 0–0 at the end of the match.
