Field and Study Centre hosts fun day out

PARKMORE – The Field and Study Centre hosted children from a crèche in Soweto for a day filled with fun and laughter.

The Field and Study Centre in Parkmore hosted children, parents and teachers from the Kids at Work crèche in Soweto for a day filled with fun and games.

According to the crèche owner Maria Kgasago, the experience was aimed at exposing the youngsters to different environments. The safe and secure surrounding of the park presented a great opportunity.

Both the children and parents were very excited leading up to the day. In addition to a planned lunch, activities included a small scale colour run for the children and the parents. “They were overwhelmed by the space and the jungle gyms. [There was] so much space to run around especially when they did the colour run with their parents,” Kgasago said

Rose Johnson of The Field and Study Centre said that a great time was had by all. She added that she was initially taken back at the request because the children would be travelling quite a distance away for a park but welcomed the group with open arms.

Johnson has always loved the vibrancy children brought to the recreation centre and the park. “It was a sight, wonderful to see the children running around with their parents.”
