Riverclub resident celebrates 100 years

RIVERCLUB - Dulcie Floweday, a Riverclub resident celebrated her 100th birthday in true style on 18 September.

Riverclub resident Dulcie Floweday celebrated her 100th birthday in true elegant fashion on 18 September with an afternoon tea. For Dulcie, the change in atmosphere was welcomed following her pre-birthday celebrations on Sunday. “I’m still recovering,” she laughed.

Floweday’s vibrant persona can be felt all throughout the room as she walks from person to person to extend her warm welcome. She is as active and talkative as the next person.

The dining area was filled with images of Floweday’s journey, the highlight of course was her wedding day, she said, reminiscing about her excitement as if it happened just yesterday.

“I got married in Port Elizabeth and it was such a beautiful wedding. The man I married, only after we got married, he told me he wanted to join the ministry and I said ‘what?’ Let’s just say that I nearly lost my mind to boredom,” she smiled as everyone laughed along.

There was a clear indication that relationship between family is of great importance to Floweday, a family trait that surely followed through the generations.
