St Stithians Girls’ College celebrate great results
LYME PARK – The young ladies of St Stithians Girls' College collected their matric results and certificates on 7 January.
The young ladies of St Stithians Girls’ College made their way together to their school for one last time to collect their much-anticipated matric results and certificates on 7 January.
The Class of 2019 achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with 99 per cent of candidates being awarded their bachelor pass.
Two students achieved summa cum laude, which is an average of 90 per cent and above.
Kundra Oosthuizen was placed on the IEB’s list for outstanding achievement, meaning that she placed in the top 5 per cent of learners in six subjects and 80 per cent or more for life orientation. She received nine distinctions.
Kamryn Norton and Megan Swallow were placed on the IEB’s list for commendable achievement.
Tyla Graham received eight distinctions. Zahn Avenant, Rhea Gill, Jemma Jenkins-Ferrett, Joëlle Lamprecht, Daniela Martini, Kamryn Norton, and Megan Swallow received seven distinctions.
Head of St Stithians Girls’ College Sally James said, “Congratulations to the Class of 2019. They are a formidable group of young women who have truly lived up to their vision of ‘recreating the dream in 2019’.
“Excelling in matric is a culmination of hard work and a dedicated approach throughout one’s high school career. Consistency and balance are what it is all about. One has to develop a love and passion for learning and inquiry.”
Rector and executive head Tim Nutall added, “While our students have shone academically success runs far deeper than these results.
“Our matric Class of 2019 has worked to action meaningful change in the Girls’ College and have led as true innovators across a variety of disciplines. They have engaged and connected with our wider community and taken a stance around significant issues affecting society at large. Our students have lived our school values and have truly inspired excellence, making a difference in every way.”

- 100 per cent pass rate
- 99 per cent bachelor pass rate
- 1 per cent of diploma studies pass rate
- Two candidates qualify for the St Stithians Academic Honours Summa Cum Laude Award (an average of 90 per cent or above)
- One student was placed on the IEB list for outstanding achievement
- Two students were placed on the IEB list for commendable achievement
- Seven candidates achieved 11 subject marks within the top 1 per cent of all IEB candidates in a specific subject, across seven subjects
- There were 213 distinctions from 91 candidates, at an average of 2.34 per student’
- 78 per cent of all candidates scored at least one distinction
- 65 candidates (71 per cent) achieved an average of 70 per cent or higher.
