WOODMEAD – A man was found electrocuted in an abandoned hole on Woodmead Drive in Sandton.


A man was found electrocuted in a hole on Woodmead Drive in Sandton in the early hours of 28 January.

Emergency services provider Netcare 911 responded to reports that an adult male fell into an open hole with exposed wires sometime during the night.

“The patient sustained serious burns to his left leg and right arm and required advanced life support intervention to stabilise him,” said spokesperson Shawn Herbst.

He added that the patient was safely removed from the hole by fire and rescue services. “Once treated, the patient was transported by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment.”
