Two suspects allegedly involved in a car-jamming and theft incident were apprehended in Rivonia.
Fidelity ADT reaction officer Dicent Qiqima reacted to a panic signal at a shopping centre in Rivonia on 6 February at 5.20pm. On arrival, he was informed by a guard that there was a suspect allegedly involved in car-jamming in the parking area.

Qiqima requested backup and went to investigate. According to Fidelity ADT, as soon as the suspect realised he had been spotted, he ran and jumped into a gold Toyota Corolla and attempted to flee. The driver allegedly tried to run over the officer who fired four shots at the fleeing suspects. One of the suspects received multiple gunshot wounds and was apprehended. The driver was also apprehended.
Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer confirmed that two suspected were arrested. He said that one suspect is currently under police guard in a hospital while the other remains in custody.
