Suspected drug dealer busted in Buccleuch

BUCCLEUCH – Sandton police make a stride in the war against drugs.

Another suspected drug dealer was busted in Buccleuch aiding in the fight against drugs.

Police members were busy with patrols in the Buccleuch area when they spotted a man allegedly exchanging cash for drugs and approached him on 20 April.

Sandton Police Station’s spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer said, “When the suspect spotted the patrol vehicle, he threw away the plastic bags with the drugs. Upon searching the area, the members discovered bank packets of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash.”

The 32-year-old suspect appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 21 April facing charges of dealing in drugs.

Meyer emphasised that drug crime will remain a priority for the South African Police Service.

Residents are urged to keep reporting criminal activities in the area by phoning the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or reporting it via the MySAPS app, where they can provide tip-offs anonymously.
