During April the Sandton schooling community shared a number of inspiring and motivating stories.
Let’s recap the top 5 school stories:
Number 1: Sandton schools embrace e-learning
Since the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa to temporarily close all schools by 18 March due to the outbreak of Covid-19, schools across the country were forced to find new and innovative ways to teach and communicate with their learners.
Number 2: Crawford Sandton draped in colour
Laughs, cheers and bright colours surrounded Crawford Sandton as learners enjoyed the Holi festival.
While many parents prepared traditional treats and snack for the learners, the Grade 7 class prepared poems and dances.
Number 3: St Stithians College family stronger than ever
The Saints family celebrated its #BeStrongerOneAndAll day on 3 April. The social media campaign, headed by the school, aims to showcase the power of a united front and help strengthen the community during the 21-day national lockdown.
Number 4: SuperMash inspires the youth
A leader at his age, SuperMash was born to build confidence in the youth and develop their mindsets.
A trailblazer, he also has a line of SuperMash sanitiser and has partnered with a proudly South African comic book publisher to take his concept to a fully professional level.
Number 5: Grayston Preparatory School unites to create a rainbow of hope
Grayston Prep invited learners and parents to create colourful pieces of artwork that envision a rainbow of hope to symbolise ‘looking toward the future under African skies’, explained the school’s spokesperson Nicole Liebenberg.
