Although schools across the country remain closed, the Lycée Jules Verne French International School came together virtually to showcase their unity.
The school community put its best creative foot forward by recreating pieces of artwork that are on display at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
The challenge was originally created by the Getty Museum on 25 March. People were challenged to feel artistically inspired and use household items to recreate one of the famous art pieces.
According to spokesperson Nonhlanhla Kunene, art teacher Dina Zohni suggested that the school participate in the art challenge as a way of interacting with one another, ‘harnessing the power of the creative arts to keep out school community engaged’.
The school has continued to share all of the submissions to its Facebook page.
Submissions for the art challenge are set to close on 24 April.
