Region B Covid-19 cases rise by 3

SANDTON – Region B includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Covid-19 cases in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs of Region B have increased by three cases, bringing the total to 172 as of 13 May.

In a statement the department noted that the City of Johannesburg saw a total increase of 18 cases to 1 124, with 948 recoveries and 109 unallocated cases

While Region B recorded the second-largest increase in the city, Region E has remained at the epicentre of the virus outbreak with 287 cases.

Region B includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

Region E includes Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.
