Pavement finally fixed along Bowling Avenue

SANDTON – A local resident thanks the staff at the Johannesburg Roads Agency.

Pat Dunbar, Ward 106 committee member, writes:

I am a Ward 106 committee member, Region E. Our ward councillor is Chris Santana.

For almost 15 years we have been trying to have the pavement along Bowling Avenue between Witkoppen Road and Riley Road, Woodmead, rehabilitated.

The illegal taxi rank caused immense damage to the pavements as they used it as a parking spot, hop-on,hop-off area for passenger drop-offs, ignoring the bus stop 10 metres down the road.

Finally, we have been given service delivery from very responsive JRA officials, Phillip Otto and Steve Mammba.

After a walk-about along Bowling Avenue, Steve promised me that the pavements would be repaired and road marking would be repainted. Taking my previous experience into consideration, I was, to state it mildly, skeptical.

I was so wrong. Two days later the team were there with two trucks, new paving bricks and the pavements were fixed and the road markings were renewed.

Our sincere thanks to JRA, Steve, Phillip and their repair team lead by Ambitious in his truck.
