Mixed martial arts school hosts karate championships

The school, run by sensei Gary McLean, teaches youngsters between the ages of four and 13. McLean’s students all performed at their best during the championships. Deutche Internationale Schule Johannesburg pupil, Maximilian van Heerden won three gold medals for karta, kick boxing and grappling at the championships.

McLean said he taught five disciplines which were, perfection of character, to be faithful, endeavour, respect and non-violence.
