A horse racing affair with the stars

FOURWAYS – The prestigious horse racing event was for a good cause.

Bryanston resident, actress Hayley Owen and Dainfern resident, DJ Alex Caige, attended the most prestigious horse racing event of the year, the Peermont and Emperors Palace Charity Mile.

The occasion brought 16 celebrities and 16 top-class racehorses together to give R1-million away to 16 worthy projects.

The event took place at the Turffontein Racecourse on 5 November and residents, Owen and Caige were part of the amazing initiative.

Caige, along with Katlego Maboe, a presenter of Expresso in Cape Town, enjoyed the horse race as they were seen passionately cheering on their adopted horses.
The 16 charity institutions would share the R1-million depending on where the charities’ affiliated horse finished in the race.

Also in attendance was television personality, Nomuzi Mabena; SuperSport anchor, Englishman Neil Andrews; Peermont executives, Thabo Mokoena and Bob Yearham; soccer legend, Benni McCarthy and the National Horse Racing Authority managing director, Lyndon Barends.
