South Africa‘s top kickboxers met for 12 explosive fights at the third Supreme Fight League in Rivonia on 26 May.
The Barnyard Theatre was packed with fans and participants, all ready to indulge in the country’s biggest event in kickboxing which is still emerging as a professional sport in South Africa.

There were amateur, super amateur and professional fights, each with their own rules and safety requirements.
There were also fights across the weight spectrum – a mix of speed and strength everyone could appreciate.
Match-ups were also excellent, with few one-sided results.
“We are doing this to put kickboxing on the map in South Africa,” event organiser Marius Lotter said afterwards.
“Since the league last year, there have been 10 clubs that started. Now we will have Supreme Fight Leagues in Rivonia as often as every two months.”
He added that the next league would take place end July/early August.

By the end of the year, organisers will also have the league broadcast on TV, and Lotter said there were still sponsorship and branding opportunities available to anyone interested.
Furthermore, he encouraged anyone interested to try the sport.
“Kickboxing is not just a combat sport. It comes with confidence and discipline – it improves your whole life.”
He said people could contact him to find out about clubs in their area.
