Women host Petticoat Day in Morningside

MORNINGSIDE – The superheroes and villains came out to play as Morningside Country Club hosted its Petticoat Day.

It was a day of fun, laughter and competition as the bowls club of Morningside Country Club hosted its Petticoat Day on 16 February. The one-day event saw the teams dress up in their villains and heroes costumes before taking to the greens.

All four greens were filled with laughter as the women competed in a series of games. Jacqueline Lauder, a member of the Morningside Country Club team, was excited to see all the women come out in their numbers to have fun. “Trust me, we will be at Wimbledon next year,” she said.

The event was initially set to take place on 7 December but due to excessive rains, the greens were flooded. “Nonetheless, the greens are filled and I really do hope we can enjoy this event each year.”
