#StayAtHomePlayAtHome with Discovery Soccer Park exercises and challenges
ILLOVO/PARKMORE – Local soccer venues provide training videos and challenges to help players stay active at home.
Discovery Soccer Park has released fun daily exercise programmes and challenges to help its members stay fit and active during the lockdown.
The company has posted videos on its Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube pages and also awarded prizes for those posting videos of themselves completing the challenges and tagging the company and #StayAtHomePlayAtHome.
“The exercises are all bodyweight exercises focusing on the fact that people while in lockdown won’t have access to gym equipment or a lot of space within which to work and exercise,” said Discovery Soccer Park CEO, Ryan Kalk.
“They may not have a soccer ball or training cones at home so we used toilet rolls as an example in the videos and today’s challenge is to make your own soccer ball using what you have at home.”
He explained that it was important for everyone to stay healthy and active and videos such as these could help families get fit at home so when players hit the field again they would be ready for it.
“We want to encourage people to stay home as directed by the president during this time, even though our business has taken a financial knock. We believe in what is being done and have faith that the government has a plan to ensure the safety of its citizens are put first above all else.”
Kalk added that he hoped the short and simple videos would help people stay fit, healthy and positive before players and staff could meet again.
