Many South Africans are eagerly awaiting their opportunity to vote on 8 May in the national and provincial elections.
The Sandton Chronicle spoke to Grade 6 learners of King David Sandton who are learning about democracy. The learners shared what their serious plans would be as well as some of their fun and outlandish ideas if they could be president. This is included as part of Caxton’s #IMadeMyMark elections coverage.
For his fun idea he added: I would like to grow fruit trees everywhere so that people can just come and take whatever they want.
For her fun idea she added: I’m obsessed with chips and tennis so I’d make a tennis court out of chips.
For her fun idea she added: I would like to pick up every person on the side of the road and take them to a fancy restaurant so they could have a nice meal.
For his fun idea he said: I would like to make money grow on trees.
For her fun idea she added: I would hand out hot chocolate on cold days and ice cream on warm days.
