The funds for this much-needed project were kindly donated to the Sandton SPCA by a team of volunteers who called themselves the ‘Lone Rangers’ when they participated in the Put Foot Rally this year.
Alex Baisch, a member of the Lone Rangers, identified the Sandton SPCA as a place where his team could make a difference. Baisch and his wife Talitha have been long-time supporters of the Sandton SPCA and chose the recovery room as a project for their team’s funding.
Architects for a Change also donated their time and expertise to making this project possible.
They not only drew up the plans and designed the new facility, but also spent many hours constructing custom-made cages for the recovery room which are of a world-class standard. The room is now light and airy and easy to clean.
“We cannot thank them all enough for their kind and generous donations to our facilities; changes like this help us make a difference in the lives of the animals we have under our care,” said Sandton SPCA acting general manager Candice Scorer.
