St Stithian boys excel at weightlifting championships

SANDTON - St Stithian’s College boys impressed at the recent South African Weightlifting Championship by bringing home five medals.

The boys did well in the various divisions, with Ross Booyse being named the South Africa Youth Champion in the 56kg Division and Gilad Katzav being named the Boys’ South African Champion in the 69kg Division.

Mitch Booyse and Christopher Thackwray both won silver in their respective divisions, while Robert Bruce won bronze in the 69kg Division.

The weightlifting championships took place in Port Elizabeth and ran from 1 to 2 May.
