According to Joburg Water, Illovo, Sandton CBD, Sandhurst, Hyde Park and surrounds were affected by the water outage because Rand Water had to restrict supply in order to fill up Rand Water’s Klipriviersberg bulk reservoir.
This is Rand Water’s biggest reservoir at 1300 Ml which supplies about 70 percent of Gauteng.
Water supply was partially restored by 6am this morning and full supply is slowly returning.
