HAVE YOUR SAY: How have the recent water cuts affected you?

JOBURG - Reporters took to the streets of Joburg to find out how the recent water cuts in various Joburg suburbs have affected residents and whether they think there is a water crisis taking place.

REFILWE MATOBVU: I don't bath on weekends anymore if I know I won't be going out. I also make sure I close the tap properly after using it.

NATALIE GOUVEIA: We don’t fill up the pool at home and I take showers instead of bathing. I’m using less water to try and save it.

CHANEL TODD: Well, we have a Jojo tank at home and we use it to water the garden. Also, we divert used bath water and use it to water the garden. I take showers now instead of bathing to save water.

Lee Mckenzie: We make sure water doesn’t run unnecessarily in the bathroom or the sink. I don’t leave the tap running. It’s very important, because if we misuse water at the end of the day we will be affected.

Sechaba Sello: Personally I am using less water. If I were to wash my car I’d use one bucket of water.

Charles Zwayne: I have buckets at home with water to use when our water is cut off.
