In the early hours of Sunday morning (23 June), Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the William Nicol Drive bridge, at the highway interchange in Bryanston.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said, “Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles were involved in a collision resulting in one of the vehicles catching alight and burning out completely.”
Paradmecis found that both drivers of the vehicles sustained serious injuries and required advanced life support intervention to stabilise them.
The patients were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
