It was announced yesterday, 10 March that load-shedding had been upgraded to Stage 4 after the Koeberg Power Station tripped. This has continued to today, 11 March.
The Power utility said that stage 4 was implemented due to a shortage of capacity and unplanned breakdowns. “We expect that load-shedding at various stages may continue into the weekend.”
Eskom also noted that their systems are currently not working, this includes their website where customers can check their load-shedding schedule.
We are currently loadshedding in stage 4.
We regret that Eskom's systems are currently down and customers are unable to access schedules. Our IT dept is working on the problem and we hope to be back online as soon as possible. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Customers did not take this well, this prompted them to share their frustrations with the power utility. Here are some of the reactions:
Eskom loadshedding at Stage 4. Jumped right past Stages 2 & 3 in a day or so. We are being loadshedded at random now. There are no schedules, we are told. We can't plan, we have no clue when the electricity gets back but those in charge seem as clueless if not worse than citizens

Dear @CityPowerJhb… Officially, it's been more than 12hrs without Power & your supplier @Eskom_SA is still implementing Stage 4. This means, if Power does return shortly, it will go again till 00:30 in #Witpoortjie. Now, whose house can I come make warm milk for my 2 month old?

I don’t know who’s lying between @Eskom_SA and @EskomSePush. Changed my plans for the day to accommodate stage 4 at 9 but I still have power, like I’m so stressed cause I don’t know what y’all plan is now. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

Last night I was loadshed at stage 4 timing, the #EskomSePush app said it was stage 2 and #Eskom’s website said no #loadshedding. What the actual stuff is going on?
