Hyde Park High Olympiad goes for gold

HYDE PARK – Grade 12 Hyde Park High School learner takes home the gold at the recent National Science Olympiad.

Hyde Park High School learner Robert Dalais placed first at the recent National Science Olympiad.

Learners from all over the country came together to participate in the annual prestigious event. The passionate Grade 12 learner placed in overall first.

This achievement means that Robert automatically qualifies to represent South Africa at the International Physics Olympiad which is set to take place in Lithuania from 18 to 26 July.

Hyde Park High acting principal Esme Aling congratulated Robert on his achievement, noting that it brought great pride to the school. She wished him well in the next phase of preparations for the prestigious International Lithuania Physics Olympiad event.

Aling also commended the school’s science department for their contribution and quality of teaching.
